Earplugs for Swimmer's ear
Swimmer’s ear is also known as otitis externa. It is an infection of the outer ear caused by water left in the ear canal. This creates a moist environment in your ear for bacteria growth. Swimmer’s ear can usually clear up if treated quickly with eardrops prescribed from your GP.
You may have the following symptoms if you have swimmer’s ear:
-
Itchy ears
-
Redness or irritation at the entrance of your ear canal
-
Redness or discomfort inside your ear canal
-
Ear pain
-
Fluid coming out of your ear
Protect your ears from swimmer’s ear by preventing water from entering your ear. If you feel you have any of the symptoms noted above, contact The Art of Hearing for an ear examination and discussion about custom made ear plugs.
